LOL CREME and Kevin Godley are introducing Peter Cook to rock and roll with unforeseen results.
Cook appears on "Consequences," the triple album that Creme and Godley premiered at a reception in Amsterdam on Saturday. Pete also sat in on the Press conference after the play-back. His presence was felt, you could say.
A few Dutch journalists decided to greet the work cynically.
"Are you saying zat za-Gizmo makes you more human?" one of them asked Godley and Creme, but Cook got there first: "Yes. For f--- sake, give him one."
Pete then enquired of the gentleman's occupation. "I do nothing," came the reply, to which Cook, in typical Derek and Clive fashion, retorted: f— off home and do it."
After insulting the Dutch, Pete turned his attention to the French. One innocent journalist wondered why the album's dialogue was recorded only in English, adding that he found it quite boring. Pete got his revenge after somebody asked about the possibilities of "Consequences" becoming a play. "Yes," Cook cracked, it's called 'F--- The French'.
